Gracies and Babies

We just finished the busiest weekend I’ve had in a long time. So much stress of planning and coordinating schedules! It was the students Gracies weekend. Gracies, if you recall, is a small group opportunity to bond together by creating a film together to be viewed by the rest of the students and parents. They shoot and edit the film overnight and then dress up for an Oscar like award ceremony. This year, my involvement was a little less intense as my girls weren’t available for the sleep-over and video shoot. I did get to have dinner with Katie though and some of the senior girls. The best picture winners included some of my girls from last year. You can see their video here.

Our dinner, prepared for us by some very dedicated volunteer parents. They actually made the dinner, cleaned up, and rushed back to church to help with registration!

Beautiful Katie.

The senior girls who let us join them for dinner! Their video is here.

The second year that Jed didn’t have time to change into his suit!

Also, this weekend, was Quincy’s baby dedication. He wore the same white suit Kaelem did two years ago. He didn’t cry at all, but then got antsy during the prayer time as people gathered around us. We pray that he will grow to love the Lord and follow him.

After Jed made it home from cleaning up Gracies at 1am, here was back at church at 6am for music rehearsal. He got to lead music that morning and play a new song. I heard him from the side room while I was waiting in line with Quincy to walk across the front. I never would have made it on time to church that morning if the Johnson’s hadn’t graciously kept Kaelem for me Saturday night. They’re such good friends!

Now that the weekend is over, I’m gearing up for a trip to Virginia at the end of the week. Laundry, laundry, laundry!
