We were at the doctor’s office yesterday waiting to get Quincy in for the doctor to look at the rash on the back of his ears. (Turns out it was indeed yeast infection and gave us some cream for it.) Anyway, Kaelem notices a woman in the back corner of the waiting room who was wearing a respiratory mask. “Dat?!” he said to me loudly while pointing at the woman. I’m pretty sure she saw, so I was embarrassed and tried not to make eye contact. I tried to deflect his attention by reading a magazine with him. The first page we opened to was a picture of a man wearing the same type of mask on an airplane. “Dat?!!!! Dat?!!!” Kaelem said really excitedly and scanned the room for the woman with the mask. Thankfully, she had already left the waiting room. “That’s a mask,” I told him, and he went back to his playing.
