McDonalds Has Been Holding Out!

The last day of our vacation was spent in luxury at the Hyatt Lodge at McDonalds. Yes, as in Ronald McDonald. Again, yay Priceline! The hotel is adjacent to McDonald’s Hamburger University where managers go for training. The hotel was originally private, but when Hyatt was hired to manage it seven years ago, it was opened to the public. We were able to stay here for a night at the price of a Super 8.

The room was big, with a large enough dressing area for Kaelem’s crib, a flat screen t.v. and a walk-out patio. Before heading home, we went swimming in the indoor pool and showered in the Lifetime Fitness style locker rooms. If we had more time, we would have enjoyed the sauna and hot-tubs, eaten at one of the three diners (McDonald’s was not one of them) and perhaps even splurged for a massage in the spa. If not that, we would have at least gone out in the paddle boats. We tried to tour Hamburger University, but it was closed on Saturday. I wanted to see the showcase of all the Happy Meal figurines.

Even after all the McDonald’s influence I think we actually ended up eating Burger King for lunch.

So, that’s about it from our trip. It was fun while it lasted. The next exciting event is our mission trip to Peru. Coming soon!
