Person 2 was nominated for a game on the last day of VBS. I don’t think she was given the choice of whether or not to play. It was a very messy game. The kind you had to plant your face squarely in a pie plate full of whipped cream to fish out gummi worms.

I could tell she had reservations, but she knew the joy it was going to bring her kids to see her play that messy, messy game.

When it started, she went at it with gusto, and she won, besting at least five other teachers who were doing it for the kids.

We get a lot of opportunities to get messy in life, and if we take ourselves too seriously, we lose them. And a lot of them are pretty good.
