Now, Back to the Show!

Virginia was 10 degrees warmer than the temp here. That was nice, but I should have appreciated it more while I was there now that it is down to 8F! It was good to get out to the east coast again as we hadn’t been since last Christmas. This was Kaelem’s second flying trip and he seemed to be a little less fascinated this time on the plane and let out a few tired cries. He really wanted his crib, I think, and the tight airplane quarters just wasn’t working. That’s understandable though. Who can sleep well on those things?

I really can’t remember what all we did now that I’m trying to write about it. Some things we did not do was stand in line at Best Buy (or really shop at all Black Friday) or eat Chick Fil-A or Baja Fresh. I have marked Jed’s words that next time he will have Baja Fresh. He did get a Slurpee though, so he wasn’t completely heartbroken.

I guess mostly we visited with Jed’s family, ate, and watched football. We also watched Kaelem entertain himself with an impressive looking Exersaucer that someone loaned us. That thing had toys toys toys everywhere! He was really beside himself and was doing back bends to try to touch everything. My house would be so clean if I had that toy! But then, for the price of that thing, I could hire a maid for a year. We did some other fun things like see “Enchanted” with Jed’s sisters and play ping-pong with his brothers. We even had time to catch up with some friends for dinner. If we had more days to spend there, it would have been nice to visit our previous church, McLean Bible. But, we found out that there is no need to ever go to church again, since we can now watch it live on the internet! Yep, we tried it out this past Sunday morning.

Also this week, Kaelem turned 6 months and Jed 26. We had a mini-party with chocolate cookies for Jed and sweet potatoes for Kaelem. The sweet potatoes are going better now than the first try. If he gagged on those, I wonder what he’ll do for peas! Something nonedibally (I think I just made a new word!) sweet Jed got for his birthday (in addition to Vikings/Redskins tickets) was a Planet Earth and Blue Planet dvd set put out by Discovery Channel. Scientists spent years filming animals in their natural habitats and got some incredible footage. We should have a Planet Party so you can come watch! Must warn you though, the monkeys are scary.

So, now we’re just catching up on laundry, etc. Kaelem goes in for his six month shots on Thursday. I think we’re planning to go to the Holidazzle parade this weekend with Dave and Aleta. And, I really really need to find a cheap warm winter coat!
